We kicked off yet another thrilling week at the Luxembourg Youth Red Cross’s Red Cross summer leadership programs in Hosingen. Children aged four to seven eagerly embraced culture and creativity in a uniquely themed European camp setting, part of an extensive holiday program designed for fun and learning.

Each year, over 600 youngsters, from Luxembourg to Europe’s gems like Italy, Portugal, Greece, Austria, the Netherlands, and Belgium’s shores, join in these enriching escapades. This time, we focused on our smallest adventurers, those aged four to seven, and poured all our creativity into crafting unforgettable experiences in Hosingen.
Engaging Play and Creative Exploration
Inside our buzzing campgrounds, young imaginations run wild. Creative activities for kids like playing Uno, engaging storytelling sessions, and rhythmic dancing fill each day with fun-filled camaraderie and learning. Camp Animator Jil Donven shared insights into their preparation, “We take time to create an authentic atmosphere, diving deep into creativity as early as March.” Here, themes truly come to life with costumes, props, and a lively spirit, making every child’s day an adventure to look forward to.
Ensuring an Unforgettable Experience
At the heart of these experiences are the 70 to 80 dedicated youth leaders, our kids animators Luxembourg team, who make sure everything runs smoothly and safely. Every leader, with a ‘brevet d’animateur’ from the Red Cross or certified by the National Youth Service (SNJ), brings enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the kids. “These credentials ensure our team’s readiness to guide and nurture young minds through these programs,” affirms Jil Scolati, Executive Director of the Luxembourg Youth Red Cross.
