Braumart Art Camp 2025 Clay Sculpture Workshop – A Day of Creativity for Kids

Iron Mountain is buzzing with excitement as the Braumart gets ready to host the Braumart art camp 2025 clay sculpture workshop this Saturday. Kids aged 9 through 12 are set to dive into a world of creativity from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., marking an incredible milestone — the 100-year anniversary of the Braumart.

Unleashing Creativity with Art Camp

The Friends of the Braumart have truly outdone themselves, sponsoring this fantastic initiative to promote art and nurture young creativity. Duane Peck, one of the esteemed board members, is thrilled to kick-start this new journey that celebrates art at the Braumart. “This exciting program is just the beginning,” he gleefully shared.

The camp is split into two engaging segments. First, our young artists will familiarize themselves with collage-making. Kids will explore art with paint, paper, and fiber — it’s all about creating their own masterpieces!

Sculpture Adventure in the Afternoon

Post lunch, it’s time for the clay sculpture workshop. With raw clay as their canvas, children are encouraged to delve deep into their imagination and express their unique selves. It’s about reflecting inner emotions through tactile three-dimensional creations. The beauty of art is that there’s no right or wrong, just personal expression.

Meet the Mentors: Duane Peck and Sarah Rice

The workshop is in the capable hands of Duane Peck and Sarah Rice, both experienced educators and board members. As a veteran theater and fine arts teacher, Peck knows the essence of empowering creativity in kids. Sarah Rice is notable for founding the Iron Mountain Public Arts Advisory and taking the lead with local art initiatives like the Bay College Iron Mountain Community Gallery.
